Suggestions For Eating Thai Food In San Francisco

San Francisco is a place with many Thai food restaurants, this shows a steady increase in the demand for Thai cuisine in SF. While many lovers of Thai food in San Francisco have travelled to Thailand at some time, a large number of SF Thai food lovers have been introduced to Thai cuisine by friends and collegues. Kaisilver, the world’s leading online custom made jewelry provider fulfills custom jewelry orders across the globe and this includes San Francisco. We however do not have a Kaisilver jewelry store in any part of the U.S since the whole setup is aimed at crafting high quality jewelry in Thailand. A group of Kaisilver staff recently made a trip to San Francisco and visited some of the Thai food restaurants in the area. We would like to state very clearly that, we do not have any business interests in the Thai food and cuisine business in San Francisco. The report compiled here is meant to provide tips and suggestions that will help you better enjoy the diversity and flavor or Thai food. If you plan to eat Thai food in SF, look for a Thai cuisine outlet near your location. It is quite likely that there are more than one Thai restaurants nearby, so take a good look. It is always better to call up the restaurant to confirm that they are open on the date and time that you intend to visit. Most Thai cuisine restaurants in San Francisco will reserve tables through a phone call but, make sure that you keep to the appointed time. If you do not mind driving around and are not very particular about eating Thai food nearby, check out streets or areas where more than one Thai food restraunt is located.

Once in the Thai restaurant, take time to read and understand the menu. It is important to clarify any specific dislikes that you might have related to food ingredients. For example, coconut milk is a common ingredient in many Thai food recipes, let the waiter or waitress know if you prefer not to have dishes that use coconut milk. One very important suggestion is to request for medium to mild spices to be added to your Thai cuisine. Thai food is generally hot and spicey, that is how the Thais like it to be. We however did find that most San Francisco Thai food outlets have moderated the taste of various Thai food recipes to suit the local taste. In any case, keep a glass of cool water at hand when tasting the food, it would be useful in lowering the heat levels if you bit something very hot!

Thai restaurants in San Francisco and other parts of the United States sometimes operate like a chain of outlets. Many Thai food lovers find it better to visit restaurants Thai cuisine that is familiar to them. It helps to visit restaurants from the same chain as the menu and flavor of the food is quite standard. However for those who prefer adding a bit of adventure to their meal might, soon get bored with the standard recipes and menu options.

Facts And Information About Penguins

Interesting Facts About The Penguin

Interesting Facts About The Penguin

There is hardly anyone who cannot recognize a penguin from an image or film. Even a rough sketch of penguins will be recognized by almost all of us. The interesting thing is that many of us would not be seeing a real penguin all our life! Despite the general awareness of how a penguin looks and that it stays in cold and freezing terrain, many other facts about this bird are not well known. In this brief write up we hope to introduce you to some fascinating information about the penguin.

Borrowed name: There was another bird called The Great Auk that was originally given the name penguin. This bird became extinct in the mid 1800s, it was large and had the same black and white color of the current penguin. Much like the penguin The Great Auk could not fly. Many years later researchers came across another bird, with black and white color, this bird like The Great Auk could not fly. The explorers called this bird the penguin! This probably is why the the name Great Auk had to be given to the original penguin.

Penguins cannot fly: There are many species of penguins, none of these can fly. And yet some people swear that they had seen a penguin hovering above the waters. This is both interesting and confusing, a penguin can swim and dive into the water. It ocassionally leaps out of the water to fill it’s lungs with air, before diving back. This could appear as if the penguin is flying.

Keeping cold away: Penguins do live in extremely cold conditions but, they do not really enjoy doing that! See the penguin image above and notice how the penguins stand in a row close to each other. You will sometimes find penguins huddled together in large numbers even in hundreds. The penguin does this to keep itself warm. Another way in which the penguin braves the cold is to hold it’s wings tightly against it’s sides.

Staying dry: The feathers of the penguin perform some very important functions. There are different shapes and sizes of feathers that remain closely woven. When water or snow falls on the penguin, the outer layers of feathers make sure that the snow or water slides down the penguin. When a penguin dives into the water, the feathers keep the water from touching the skin of the penguin. This keeps the wet and cold away from the body of the penguin.

Fine in captivity: If you visit penguins in a zoo or other breeding ground, they seem to be very comfortable and cozy. This is true, penguins adjust themselves well in captivity. This allows scientists to maintain the penguin population as they breed quite normally even in captivity.

We have a whole collection of penguin images provided by the NSF (National Science Foundation) and also some more penguin information at http://www.leisure.food-recipe-cooking.com/penguin-about-penguins-01.htm Do have a look and get to know more about this stylish and well mannered bird.

Sydney Opera House, Kaisilver Report

Sydney Opera House, Encouraging Arts

Sydney Opera House, Encouraging Arts

The sydney opera house is one of the best known landmarks in Australia. The Kaisilver report on this monument in sydney reveals some little known details about the opera house. Many people are under the impression that the imposing design for the sydney opera house would have been created by one of Australia’s top designer architects. The truth is that a Danish architect was the one who designed the structure for the sydney opera house. On doing a research on this monument in Australia, Kaisilver learnt that the design for this construction was finalized from an international competition.
A little known Danish designed by the name of Jorn Utzon send in entry number 218. This won the competition and Jorn Utzon was included in the panel of architects who would execute the design. This award gave Jorn Utzon instant recognition and he went on to design some very prestigious projects in far away lands like Denmark and Kuwait. Another fact unearthed by the Kaisilver team related to the Sydney opera house was that, Jorn Utzon was taken off the commitee that supervised the construction. This incident occured after questions were raised related to budget expenses and spending.
The UNESCO conferred the opera house as being a World Heritage Site. The sydney opera house today boasts of a large auditorium and even an outdoor amphitheater style arena that oversees the harbour. Taj Mahal A Wonder Of The World. The Taj Mahal Is A Monument Of Love

The Taj Mahal In India. A Monument Of Love.

The Taj Mahal In Agra India

The Taj Mahal In Agra India

The Taj Mahal was constructed under the rule of the moghul emperor Shah Jahan. While many people believe that Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal for his wife Mumtaz Mahal to reside, the fact is that the idea of building the monument was taken and accomplished after her death. Mumtaz Mahal was not the only wife of Shah Jahan, but she was the one that he loved the most. Historical records state that, she died with some medical problems while delivering their 14th child.

The Taj Mahal has been declared one of the wonders of the world. But there is an underlying story of horrifying proportions, something that would have never been accepted in todays world. It was believed that all the 20,000 artisans and craftsmen who were involved in constructing the spectacular Taj Mahal monument had their hands chopped off. This was done to ensure that they never again built another monument that was as attractive or more attractive than the Taj Mahal. History is about facts, and there is no point on glossing over this terrible act while piling admiration on what is a beautiful construction.

Another interesting fact that is often forgotten by the history books is the fact that Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his own son. A building near the Taj Mahal was used to imprison Shah Jahan, he finally died a prisoner. That ended the story of a ruler who built one of the most beautiful monuments in history. You can see more images of the Taj Mahal and some more interesting details at http://www.leisure.food-recipe-cooking.com/taj-mahal-pictures-and-facts-01.htm The Kaisilver team has spent some touring the Taj Mahal and studied some of the historic details related to the monument.

Gorgeous Thai Flowers

Gorgeous Thai Flowers

Thai Flowers, Pretty Flowers Form Thailand
The Kaisilver team filed a report with Thai flower photographs. Don’t expect to find any botanical descriptions in the report. None of the staff are botanical experts and too the images just for the sheer beauty of these flowers from Thailand. Since these Thai flower photographs were taken in natural surroundings and not in a flower show, no flower and species were mentioned. A very interesting thing about this collection of flowers from Thailand is the display of three gorgeous colors of the same flower. The flower can be seen in pink, red and yellow.
Thai flowers are used to decorate homes and offices, they ofcourse have a special significance in religious ceremonies too. Dried flowers are sometimes sold in small cloth bags. It is believed that keeping these bags in a room helps takes out bad odors from the place. Thailand exports a large number of flowers to almost every part of the globe. You should know that both artificial and natural flowers earn substantial revenue for the country. Artificial flowers are made from paper, cloth and even Thai silk. Some of these artificial Thai flowers can very closely resemble their natural counterparts.
Get a look at some more Thai flowers here http://www.leisure.food-recipe-cooking.com/thai-flowers-from-thailand-01.htm The images are impressive since they are all shot on location.

Thai Designs, The Beauty And Grace

Thai Designs, The Beauty And Grace

The Beauty And Grace Of Thai Designs.

Many visitors were surprised that the Kaisilver collection of Thai designs included no jewelry. The team at Kaisilver did this assignment on a leisure trip. The report on designs from Thailand therefore is not aimed at making a jewelry or gem stone sale. The beauty of traditional thai designs is very visible in religious places like temples. This collection of Thai design images obviously includes some amazing pictures of artistic temple architecture. You can see the amazing talent of some of Thailands finest artisans. We also have a terrific view of some temple windows.

Thai designs on ceramics are beautifully depicted on Benjaorng ceramics. We have an image that beautifully captures the essence and beauty of Thai benjarong. You will also see some mind blowing wood carvings, once again with traditional Thai designs. One of these wood carving images was shot on location in Chantaburi, a province located around 350 km away from the city of Bangkok. The classic Thai design style carving is done on an entire bark of a tree.

Tall Buddha Statue At Putthomonthon, Nakhon Pathom

The tall Buddha statue in the above image is situated in the Nakhon Pathom province of Thailand. The imposing Buddha statue is almost 16 meters high and is surrounded by around 400 square meters of gardens and parks. The place is called Putthomonthon and is not very far from Bangkok. If you would like to see this place on your visit to Thailand, keep aside around 3 to 4 hours for the travel and touring of the Putthomonthon park.

The Kaisilver team took a day off to visit the Putthomonthon Lord Buddha statue. The peace and calm of the lawns in the Putthomonthon parks are impressive. Walk towards the center of the park near the tall Buddha statue and you will not hear the vehicles moving in the surrounding streets. The day was cloudy and the clouds formed a spectacular background for the big Buddha statue. We have put up more and larged images on the website at http://www.leisure.food-recipe-cooking.com/puthamonthon-nakhon-pathom-thailand-01-pm.htm/

Low Cost Airlines, Safety and Health

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

Just how low cost airlines are able to offer very low airfares remains a mystery. There are a few cost cutting measures put in place like, offering snacks instead of lunches, reducing the onboard staff, offering only plain water and fruit juices instead of hard drinks etc. But, do these cost factors really contribute to a major cost share? Are regular airlines making unfair profits when they charge almost twice as the low cost airlines?

On another note, many low cost airlines are gradually moving beyond their local domestic flying routes and flying to nearyby countries. This could pose a possible health risk to flyers of low cost airlines. Most low cost airlines seem to pack extra seats into an aircraft. This is possibly one way of reducing costs. Sitting in cramped postures for long durations could be one of the major causes of DVT or Deep Vein Thrombosis. This medical condition could be fatal. Another problem is that many low cost airlines rely on old refurbished aircraft, this could pose a technical risk when flying long distances.

These are just a few issues that need to be discussed and debated.
